Definition
- Pre-Installation meeting with Systems Engineer to discuss the configuration
- Configure the server directory structure to allow for disk to disk backups
- Install and edit the backup scripts to suit the local installation
- Shutdown the Oracle database, start up mount and manually perform a full cold
backup
- Open the Oracle database and manually perform a full hot backup
- Copy a single datafile to a safe location, delete the file and restore/recover
the database manually
- Schedule the backup scripts to execute via cron or via Windows scheduler
